WHO WE ARE

LSLSI was incorporated on September 25, 2012 as a private limited company under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956. LSLSI has been established as a special purpose entity by REEDS, a registered not-for-profit Society, to exclusively focus on the Skills Development intervention.

LSLSI primary focus is to promote and facilitate life skills and livelihood skills development leading to an equitable and inclusive growth. LSLSI expect to be a catalyst for innovative initiatives for development and realization of skills in rural areas for employment and empowerment.

MISSION

To be the catalyst for Public Private and Community Partnerships (PPCPs) for the empowerment of sustainable rural economic development in India through diffusion of best practices in life & livelihood skills.

VISION

To empower 1 billion Indians to create the world’s most inclusive and dynamic socio-cultural-economic society by 2025.

RICHARD W. OLIVER

Dr. Oliver is the founder & CEO of the American Sentinel University, a leading online university with a focus on health care education located in Colorado, USA. Dr. Oliver holds a BSc. in economics from Cornell University and a PhD. from the State University of New York. Dr. Oliver has consulted for a number of companies including JP Morgan, AMEX, IBM, Du Pont. He has served on the boards of seven US public companies and on more than 15 not-for-profits.

SHAILENDRA KUMAR HAJELA

Dr. Hajela graduated in Electrical Engineering and obtained his Dr. Ing. from the Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany. He had a long and illustrious career spanning over 33 years in the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India holding various prestigious positions culminating with Advisor Technology in 1992. He has been associated with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India as honorary Sr. Consultant. He is a member of the Project Advisory Committee of Technology Systems Group, Ministry of Science & Technology.

SADANANDA RAMAKOTI

Dr Sadananda has a career spanning international academic institutions and industry. Presently he is an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University and a Visiting Research Fellow at the National ICT Australia Limited. He was the founding Head and Dean of the School of Computer & Systems Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, headed the program of Computer Science and Information Management at the Asian Institute of Technology and served as Vice President (Research) of Rangsit University in Thailand.

RAVINDRA VIKRAM

Mr. Ravindra Vikram did his graduate studies in Science and Law. Vikram is a senior partner of M. Anandam& Co., Chartered Accountants, Secunderabad and a leading Financial and management consultant. Mr. Vikram is a Trustee and Secretary, Governing Council of M.V. Foundation [MVF], a leading voluntary organization known nationally and internationally for pioneering work in literacy and in eradicating child labour in India. He serves as an Advisor, Auditor and Director of many companies.

RAVI KUMAR REDDY

Dr. Ravi K Reddy is a Chartered Accountant and a Business Advisory Consultant. He consults for many businesses, especially the small, medium and emerging enterprises. Ravi passionately believes rural empowerment is a concern to a country like India. His role was prominent in making REEDS visible nationally and internationally. Ravi co-organized two International Conferences – SKILLS2010 in December 2010 and SKILLS2013 in December 2013 at Hyderabad, India.

SUNANDA SOMAVARAPU

Mrs. Sunanda graduated in Arts from SV University, India. She is passionate about empowering women and has been involved for many years with empowering women with a particular focus on making access to skill and knowledge in embroidery techniques to increase their income opportunities. She has supported initiatives for inclusive, sustainable community and creative approaches to learning and growth. She has been a member of the Board of Governors of REEDS since 2005 and is currently its treasurer.
